Journey

Nia’s Story

Horses have always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Nia on horseback in an open landscape

What started as a childhood fascination quickly became a passion that shaped who I am today. Over the years, working with horses has taught me patience, trust, and the importance of building a true partnership with each animal.

Young Nia with a pony

To my first ponies, I feel I owe an apology; I did not know any better then, pulling on the reins to turn and stop, and kicking my ponies to go. Without them I never would have made it to where I am now.

Nia with horses

Every horse has its own personality and story, and I’ve always believed that the best results come from understanding and respecting them.

Partnership with a horse

My goal is not only to train horses and riders, but to help create confident partnerships built on communication and trust.

Nia riding in a wide green field under a big sky

I’ve been fortunate to learn from some incredible horsemen and horsewomen along the way, including Neil Pye, Lynetta from Lighthorse, Sandy Stanway, and Russell Higgins.

Nia with her horse

Their knowledge and guidance have played an important role in shaping the way I work with horses today.

Horsemanship is a lifelong journey, and I am always continuing to learn, grow, and develop my skills so I can become the best horsewoman I can be.

Sharing horsemanship with others

Sharing my passion with others—whether it’s through lessons, training, or simply helping someone understand their horse better—is the most rewarding part of what I do.

Looking ahead with horses

And I am looking forward to a lifetime of learning from these incredible creatures.
